10-Day Surgical Volunteer Teams Near Machu Picchu
The Kausay Wasi Clinic Commonly can support the follow types of surgical specialities. There are a number of types of teams we can support. If yours is not listed, let's discuss what we can accomplish.
A good rule of thumb is that the procedures performed at the clinic can be typically performed in ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) in the U.S. We typically keep our patients overnight at least one night.

6:00 AM - Clinical Team Breakfast
6:45 AM - Walk to the Clinic

7:30 AM - Clinic Opens & Surgeries Begin
Noon - Lunch with the Clinical Teams
5:00 PM - Return to Guesthouse
7:00 PM - Clinical Team Dinner
Dinners are prepared at the Guesthouse or at a local restaurant.

Surgery, Primary Care, Non-Surgery Specialty Care
The clinic provides 2 OR suites for our guest surgical teams. They also treat 25,000 patients per year. We provide non-surgcial specialists as well as primary care to augment and care for their patients as well. This is also where we triage our surgical patients
Where We Stay
The Guesthouse in Coya
We will stay at the Coya Guesthouse just off the village square and 4 blocks from the Kausay Wasi Clinic. Each room has it's own private bath. The guesthouse provides us breakfast each morning and dinner most evenings. The Guesthouse is controlled access and gated with two beautiful courtyards on either side. There is laundry service available, so feel free to pack light.
What is Included
Texas de Peru uses funds from our physician and non-clinical volunteers to defer medical mission costs which include equipment, medications, supplies, patient care, and indicated travel-related expenses and sponsorships. Participant travel and accommodations, except air, will be provided by Texas de Peru.
The Program Fees Cover the Following Costs
- Hotel Accommodations (Double Occupancy) (8 nights)
- Three group meals per day on Clinical Days (6 days)
- Group Transportation to and from the Clinic and other program or mission-related transport, such as airport transfers
The Following Expenses Are the Responsibility of Each Individual
- Airfare to Cuzco. Each volunteer is responsible for their own air arrangements. Texas de Peru can purchase and bill for the airfare as required.
- Excursion to Machu Picchu, including bus and train transport and guides (Arranged by Texas de Peru)
- Any Additional Excursions
- Meals during non-clinical days
